Optometrist.
Expert in Optometry
Mr. Hilton started his career as a pre-registration Optometrist at St. Paul’s Eye Unit in Liverpool more than 20 years ago, quickly working his way up to Senior Optometrist before leaving to work with Vision Express in the private sector.
Whilst at Vision Express, he wanted to broaden his horizons, becoming involved in the Local Optical Committee and also working as an Optometric Adviser to several local NHS teams.
He then started his own domiciliary firm, specialising in patients with Autism and Downs Syndrome, whilst simultaneously leaving Vision Express to sit on the Management Board at a private eye hospital.
Shortly after he was offered his first high street practice which he took, and one practice soon became six. He continued his work with the Local Optical Committee in Liverpool as Chairman for several years.
He has always had an interest in bespoke contact lenses which fuelled his interest in myopia management. More recently he formed, and still Chairs, a partner representative group for the Hakim Group.
Mr. Hilton started expert witness work in 2020 and reports on 5-10 cases a year, which is increasing all the time. He has successfully completed the Bond Solon training for Expert Witnesses.
Mr. Hilton’s career has given him the necessary exposure to and experience in all areas of Optometry giving him a very rounded approach to expert witness work.
